Rep. Emma Mulvaney-Stanak hosted a state and federal policy discussion on July 21, 2022. The panel discussion included leaders in gun safety and violence prevention. We explored Vermont and federal gun policy and what legislative changes are possible to strengthen gun sales, possession and safety as well as larger community safety concerns. We also discussed how easy access to guns impacts several parts of our community: community safety, school safety, mental health crisis/suicide, and hate crimes. Panelists and co-hosting organizations included Grace Walter, Board Member, Gun Sense Vermont, Allie Breyer, State Communications Director, Moms Demand Action - Vermont Chapter, and Liuba Gretchen Shirley, Founder and CEO of Vote Mama.
